01Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Super Secret Loot LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("Super Secret Loot", "we", "us"), which operates Unum: the Discord bot, the web dashboard and the website at unumbot.com (together, "Unum"). By adding Unum to a server, signing in or using it, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Unum for an organization, you agree on its behalf.
02Who can use Unum
You must be at least 13, or the minimum age to use Discord in your country if that is higher. To buy a plan you must be an adult where you live, or have a parent or guardian’s permission. You must not be barred from using Unum by the laws of the United States or of where you live, including sanctions.
03The service
Unum adds moderation, logging, tickets, XP and Credits, games, automations, stream alerts for Twitch, Kick and YouTube, and related tools to Discord servers, set up from the dashboard. What each plan includes is shown on the pricing page.
We keep improving Unum, so features may be added, changed or removed. Features marked as early or beta may change or stop without notice.
04Your account and linked accounts
You sign in with Discord, and can link Twitch, YouTube and Kick accounts and connect stream channels through each platform’s own sign-in. Only link accounts and channels you control. Keep your accounts secure, and tell us at support@unumbot.com if you think one has been compromised. You are responsible for what happens through your account.
Each platform’s terms still apply to your use of it, including the Discord Terms of Service. By linking a YouTube account or connecting a YouTube channel, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service.
05Server owners and staff
If you add Unum to a server or manage it in the dashboard, you are responsible for how Unum is set up there and for what it does on your behalf. That includes:
- The permissions you give Unum in Discord. We recommend Administrator for full functionality; the choice is yours.
- Automations, AutoMod rules, Server Guard, moderation commands and every other feature that acts on members, including bans, kicks, timeouts, role changes, deleted messages and posts.
- Telling your members which features you use, including message logging, public leaderboards and ticket transcripts, and getting any permission the law requires from them.
- Following Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines, and the rules of every platform you connect.
Automated tools make mistakes. Unum can act against the wrong member, or miss something it should have caught. Check what matters, and do not rely on Unum as your only safeguard.
06Custom Bot
With Custom Bot, Unum runs under a Discord application you create. You own that application and are responsible for it under Discord’s Developer Terms of Service and Developer Policy. You give us its token so Unum can run it; we store it encrypted and use it for nothing else. If Discord limits or removes your application, Unum cannot run as it, and we are not responsible for that.
07Credits, games and prizes
Credits are a reward a server’s members earn and spend inside Unum. They are not money. They have no cash value, cannot be bought from us, and cannot be sold, exchanged or cashed out for money or anything of value. They are not your property: each server’s owner controls them, and may grant, remove or reset them. Credits are deleted when their server’s data is deleted.
Selling, buying or trading Credits, or accounts that hold them, for money or anything of value outside Unum is not allowed.
Giveaways, auctions, heists and other games are for fun. The server that runs one sets its rules and chooses any prize. If a prize has real-world value, that server’s owner is its sponsor, and is solely responsible for providing it and for following any law on sweepstakes, contests, lotteries and gambling that applies to them and their members. We are not a party to any giveaway, auction or game, and do not guarantee any prize.
08Plans, trials and payments
- Plans
- Plus and Ultimate are subscriptions for one server, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown when you subscribe. The person who subscribes is the billing contact and pays for that server. Paid add-ons to a plan follow the same terms as the plan.
- Free trial
- Each server gets 14 days of Ultimate once, when Unum is first added. No payment details are needed, and the trial ends without charge.
- Automatic renewal
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. Before each yearly renewal, we send a reminder to the email address on your payment details.
- Cancelling
- Cancel at any time from the billing page in the dashboard. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for, and it is not renewed.
- Changing plans
- An upgrade takes effect straight away, and you pay the difference for the rest of the period. A downgrade takes effect at the end of the period.
- Your price
- We may change our prices, but yours stays the same for as long as your subscription stays active. If it is cancelled, ends, or lapses after a failed payment, a new subscription is charged the price at that time.
- Refunds
- Payments are not refundable, including for part of a period or for features you did not use, unless the law requires a refund. Consumers in the EU and the UK also have the right in Cancelling as a consumer in the EU or UK.
- Starting straight away
- A subscription starts as soon as you pay, because you ask us to start it. If you are a consumer in the EU or the UK, Cancelling as a consumer in the EU or UK says what that means for your 14-day right to withdraw.
- Failed payments
- If a payment fails, the server moves to the Free plan until a payment succeeds.
- Removing Unum
- If Unum is removed from a server with a subscription, the subscription is set to end when its paid period does. Adding Unum back before then keeps it going.
- Taxes
- Prices do not include taxes unless we say so. You pay any tax that applies to your purchase.
- Payment processing
- Payments are processed by Stripe, under its terms. We never see your full card details.
09Referrals and discounts
Everyone with an account has a referral code. Using someone else’s, and having people use yours, both earn a percentage off what you pay us. The discount applies to everything you are billed for: every server you pay for, and any seats on it.
- For using a code
- 10% off, from your first invoice, for as long as you have a subscription, or 20% if the code belongs to one of our partners. If you stop paying for everything, it stops with you, and it comes back if you subscribe again. A code can only be used once per account, and not your own. Following someone’s referral link uses their code for you: it is applied the next time you open the dashboard, unless you have already used one.
- For referring people
- 5% for every 5 people who used your code and are still subscribed, up to 25% at 25 people. Reaching a rung replaces the one below it, and referrals beyond 25 earn nothing more.
- Who can be referred
- Only someone who has not yet paid us can use your code, and only before their first payment: once they have paid, no code works on their account, yours included. It only counts once per server, at that server’s first paid subscription, so a server that has already paid cannot be referred again. They must have joined Unum after you did, and you cannot refer each other.
- When a referral counts
- Once that person has been subscribed for 30 days, their payment has not been refunded, and it was not paid with your own card or one that has already paid us under another account. Before that it counts for nothing.
- When one stops counting
- If they cancel, if their subscription lapses, or if their payment is refunded or disputed. Your discount can go down as well as up, and a refund or dispute removes that referral for good.
- The two together
- They add, to a maximum of 45%.
- When a change takes effect
- On your next invoice. A discount cannot be applied to an invoice already issued, and we do not refund the difference on one.
Referrals must be real people choosing to subscribe. Accounts you control, servers you create to refer yourself, paid or incentivised sign-ups, and anything else meant to manufacture referrals are not allowed. We may remove referrals, withdraw a discount, or end a person’s part in the programme where we reasonably believe that has happened.
The programme is not part of what you buy. We may change how it works or end it, and we will tell you before a change reduces a discount you already have. Discounts have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and end when your subscription does.
10Cancelling as a consumer in the EU or UK
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the law gives you 14 days to withdraw from a contract made online, without giving a reason. This section says how that works with a plan. It is for people buying outside a trade, business or profession; for everyone else, Plans, trials and payments applies on its own.
- The 14 days
- They run from the day your subscription starts. The free trial is not one of these contracts: it needs no payment details, costs nothing, and ends by itself unless you choose a paid plan.
- Starting straight away
- Your plan starts as soon as you pay. By agreeing to these terms at checkout, you ask us to start it straight away and you understand that if you withdraw within 14 days, you are refunded for the part you have not used, not the whole payment.
- If you withdraw
- Tell us inside the 14 days at support@unumbot.com, or use the form below. We refund what you paid for that period, less an amount in proportion to the part of the plan you have already had. We pay it back the way you paid, within 14 days of hearing from you.
- After the 14 days
- Cancel whenever you like from the billing page. Your plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for, and a period already under way is not refunded, unless the law requires it.
You can withdraw in any clear statement, so this form is only here to make it easy. Send it to support@unumbot.com.
- I give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following plan:
- Server name and ID:
- Plan, and monthly or yearly:
- Ordered on:
- Your name:
- Your address:
- Your Discord username:
- Date:
11Acceptable use
Do not use Unum to:
- break any law, or Discord’s or another platform’s rules;
- harass, threaten, dox or exploit anyone, or target a server or community for harm;
- send spam, scams, malware or phishing;
- run real-money gambling, or sell or trade Credits for money;
- post or store content that is illegal or infringes someone else’s rights;
- get around limits, permissions, security or plan restrictions, or reach data or servers you are not allowed to;
- overload, disrupt, scrape or probe Unum or our API, other than through the features we provide;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer Unum, except where the law allows it despite this rule;
- pretend to be Unum, Super Secret Loot or anyone else.
We may remove content, turn off features or suspend access to protect people or Unum, and report illegal activity to the authorities.
12Your content
What you put into Unum stays yours: settings, custom commands, announcements, images and the rest. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process and display it only to run Unum for you and your server. The license ends when the content is deleted, apart from copies we must keep by law or under our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the rights to what you provide.
13Copyright complaints
If you believe something in Unum infringes your copyright, email support@unumbot.com with your contact details; the work you believe is infringed; where the material is in Unum; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you own the copyright or may act for its owner; and your signature.
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice with the same details. We end the access of repeat infringers where appropriate.
14Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
15Our property
Unum, including its software, design, documentation, name and logos, belongs to Super Secret Loot and its licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to use Unum as they describe, and nothing more.
16Discord and other platforms
Unum depends on Discord, Twitch, Kick, YouTube and other services we do not control. We are not responsible for them, for changes to their services or APIs, or for action they take against your account or server. If a platform changes or ends something Unum relies on, the features that use it may change or stop.
Most of Unum works inside Discord. These features also reach outside it:
- Stream alerts and live roles
- Depend on Twitch, Kick and YouTube telling us a channel has gone live.
- Social Feed
- Depends on the platform each followed account publishes on, and on that platform continuing to make the account’s posts available to read.
- Subscriber roles and linked accounts
- Depend on Twitch, Kick and YouTube sign-in, and on what each platform tells us about a subscription or membership.
- Stream chat features
- Depend on the chat service of the platform the stream is on.
These features are checked on a schedule and live within each platform’s limits, so alerts and posts can arrive late, arrive out of order, or be missed: while a platform is down, while it is rate limiting us, or when it stops serving something we read. We do not promise that any particular stream, post or subscription is detected or delivered.
A platform may also restrict, charge for or withdraw the access a feature needs. We may then limit, change or remove that feature, immediately and without notice where that platform’s terms or the law require it. That is not a breach of these terms and does not entitle you to a refund, as Plans, trials and payments sets out. A paid plan is not a promise that any particular platform integration will keep working.
You choose which accounts and feeds a server follows. What Unum brings into Discord belongs to whoever published it, and Unum passes on what the source makes public and links back to it. Do not use Unum to republish anything you do not have the right to share, and keep to each platform’s terms while you do.
17Availability and changes
We work to keep Unum running and show its current state on our status page. We do not promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or free of errors, and we may pause it for maintenance.
We may change or stop offering Unum or any part of it. If we stop Unum entirely, we will give reasonable notice where we can, and refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
18Suspension and ending
You can stop using Unum at any time: remove it from your server, cancel your subscription, and delete your data from the dashboard.
We may suspend or end your access, or Unum’s operation in a server, if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or to protect people, a community or Unum. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you why. If we end your access because you broke these terms, payments are not refunded.
When Unum is removed from a server, that server’s data is deleted as our Privacy Policy describes. Terms that by their nature should continue, including those on Credits, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnity and disputes, continue after these terms end.
19Disclaimers
UNUM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT UNUM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR FREE OF ERRORS, THAT ITS AUTOMATED MODERATION, SECURITY OR OTHER FEATURES WILL DETECT OR ACT CORRECTLY ON ANY CONTENT OR MEMBER, OR THAT DATA WILL NOT BE LOST.
Some places do not allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.
20Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, SUPER SECRET LOOT AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL OR COMMUNITY MEMBERS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO UNUM OR THESE TERMS, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE. THIS INCLUDES LOSS CAUSED BY WHAT UNUM DOES OR FAILS TO DO IN A SERVER, AND BY THE CONDUCT OF OTHER USERS OR OF THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO UNUM OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR US$100.
Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
21Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Super Secret Loot and its members, managers and employees against claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from your breach of these terms, your content, how you set up and use Unum in a server you manage, or your violation of the law or of someone else’s rights.
22Governing law and disputes
Texas law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
If you have a dispute with us, email support@unumbot.com first and give us 30 days to try to resolve it informally. If we cannot, the dispute will be decided only by the state or federal courts in Dallas County, Texas, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Either of us may instead bring an eligible claim in small-claims court.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or another place whose law lets you bring claims in your own courts, or gives you protections that cannot be waived, you keep them.
23Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We post the new version here with a new date at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the change is required by law or only corrects errors. If you keep using Unum after that, you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using Unum and cancel any subscription before the change takes effect.
