UnumBeta

Set it up once.Leave it running.

22 guides, grouped the way the dashboard is. This first one covers adding Unum and finding your way around. The rest you can read when you switch that feature on.

Quick start

Add Unum to your server, sign in to the dashboard and turn on your first feature.

Add the bot

  1. Click Add to Discord anywhere on this site. Discord asks which server to add Unum to.
  2. Pick your server. Discord only lists servers where you have Manage Server. Opening its dashboard afterwards needs the server owner, an Administrator, or the server's Bot Manager role.
  3. Review the permissions and approve. We recommend leaving Administrator ticked, which is what makes every feature work without coming back to this screen. Unum joins straight away and its slash commands register a moment later.

Your trial

Every new server gets 14 days of Ultimate, free, starting the moment Unum joins. No card, and nothing to activate.

When the trial ends the server moves to the free plan unless you pick Plus or Ultimate. Nothing is deleted: paid features stop running and keep their settings, visible but read-only, and come back if you subscribe later. Lists over the free plan's limit keep the oldest running and pause the rest, and a server in a Server Group stays in it as an inactive member. The server owner gets a Discord DM when the trial ends.

Open the dashboard

Almost everything is configured on the web dashboard rather than through commands. Sign in with Discord, and you land on a list of the servers you can manage.

  1. Choose your server to open its dashboard.
  2. Pick a feature from the sidebar. Features are grouped the same way they are on the features page.
  3. Switch the feature on, fill in its settings, and save. Changes apply as soon as they are saved. There is no bot restart.

First things worth setting up

You don't have to configure everything. These four are the ones most servers want on day one, whether or not anyone in the server streams:

Welcome
A message in the channel you choose when someone joins, with a role handed out at the same time if you want one.
Moderation
Warnings, timeouts, kicks and bans, all recorded as cases you can look back through.
Role menus
A post members pick roles from themselves, so nobody has to ask a moderator for a colour, a ping role or access to a channel.
XP and leveling
Activity earns XP, and roles can be handed out at levels you choose.

Before you set up anything that hands out or removes roles, read Permissions and role hierarchy. It's the one piece of Discord behaviour that catches every bot.
